Throw some blankets over it if you’re really worried.

Hopefully not. I have lots of dents in my car from pecan trees

I have >$6k in damage from a year ago, the car can’t look much worse. It did take me 2.5 months to get the back window replaced that time though.

Its small enough, maybe you can lay on top and protect it.

Time to find a parkade. Or, failing that call your insurance broker to add in comp coverage/lower your deductible!

IF I fold the mirrors in it might fit on the front porch...

You don’t have a covered spot?
I saw once some inflatable car covers that deflected hail

I vote blankets, too.

SaSaw that. I get to play with the smaller one near boulder.

Go find a parking garage or car wash and wait it out. Or a bank drive thru.

“half dollar” is such a strange way to size something. I assume they mean half of a dollar bill...? Or is this a fifty cent piece? Would it really be that hard to actually use standard units of measure, like 3" in diameter? I feel like that’s a lot more clear. Or—okay—if you absolutely HAVE to compare to other objects, how about sticking with tennis ball, ping pong ball, BB, etc. You know, spherical objects similar to hail.
(I don’t know why this bothers me so much, have a cat)

Last week in Fort Collins we had a hail storm that destroyed my entire garden and put some fat dents in my 300d hopefully there are no more this spring

It’s coming back to finish the job!

It’s a fair question. How much bigger than a golf ball is a 50-cent piece really?
I got stuck in a hailstorm while running once and can confirm that marble/nickel sized hail is very painful.

I street park. I’ve considered building a garage either separately or attached to the house with extra living space above, but the market here is really weird and I can’t make up my mind if I’d be better off trying to move.

I had some bad damage in 2015 and again last year. I’ve given up on the car (besides keeping windows in it). But yeah, other property damage is worrying. I think this one got Lakewood but not my neighborhood.

Wait, are coins actually the reference point commonly used? Strange! I haven’t seen a 50 cent piece in probably five years...
Yeah that’s one thing I don’t envy, as nice as Denver sounds. Although it would be fun to run around in the Miata. My admittedly small experience with hail says that traction is even lower than with light snow

Hope it wasn’t too bad!

It’s...squeaky. We had a storm overnight here a few years back and a nearby intersection actually got about a foot of (small) hail in ten minutes or something crazy. It gets weird because it only really sticks to itself - the road is usually warm so it’s not like it ices over.

Kinda like driving on marbles, right? Well I hope the Fiat stays safe! Also, you. Save the run for another time haha

Fortunately for me that’s not coming my way. Unfortunately we’re supposed to be getting a few inches of rain.

Not again! Almost makes me glad I moved back to chicago, except that I wouldn’t mind my current car getting totalled lol can’t afford to replace it for another year or so. The hail is really the only downside to Denver compared to chicago.

It came down pretty good at the laundromat I was at. It’s near Mississippi and Peoria in Aurora.
Fortunately the hail was small, but some of it was piled up on my wipers.
Apparently it was also pretty scary down at Southlands, where my partner’s store is.

how’d it turn out in the end? I’m out in Littleton, and it was just pebble sized. a LOT of it, for a long time, but just small hail.
hard to say if my civic took any damae, becuase it’s already in such poor condition.

Nothing too bad, more wind than anything. Lots of little pebbles. Our company car still has all of its windows so I don’t think the office had it too bad either. I’m a little paranoid after last year!
I feel like the older cars are less susceptible to damage. My old Civic got hit a few times and looks...as bad as ever, but not carpox-ed like the Fiat.
